3D pedestrian crossing in iceland

In a quiet fishing town in Iceland called Isafjordur, there is now one of the most attractive pedestrian crossings that you may have seen: traditional strips of “zebra” painted with the effect of 3D.

An unusual drawing on the pedestrian crossing was created last month in the framework of the joint work of street art company Vegi with the Environmental Commissioner of the city Ralph Trilloy.

City authorities hope that this section of the road will serve not only an attractive work of street art, but also a more powerful visual signal urging drivers to brake at the pedestrian crossing.
